This will also be the first time I've attempted complicated cables.
I'm really itching to get started, but I'm determined to first finish the sweater I'm working on. If I don't, I'm afraid I won't get back to it! Hopefully it won't be more than a week.
The yarn I have is Rio de la Plata superwash Merino Sock. I think this is a new yarn. I'm VERY excited - it's gorgeous and soft.

The green is actually a little less yellow than it looks there.
Anyway, glad to be here! It's great to see everyone else's progress. :)

Beautiful colour!
That yarn is fantastic! That goldy-green is one of my favourite colours.
I too am trying to finish a sweater, but Clessidra is providing a much-needed break from the endless stockinette...
Thank you! I'm not sure I'd actually describe the yarn as goldy-green so much as slightly-variegated olive - unfortunately, I couldn't quite get accurate colors in the pic. But it's pretty close. :)
Makes sense about the stockinette, Heather. My problem is just that once I leave a project, my chances of finishing it plummet...so I'm plowing my way through this one. I'm nearing the end, so hopefully I'll be posting pics of Clessidra-in-progress soon!
The cables only look complicated. Take them one round at a time and you'll be surprised with how quickly they make sense and work out seemingly on their own. :o)
Thanks for the encouragement, Jill! :)
The cabling is what makes it possible to work on two projects at the same time - my philosophy: one project needs to be plain old stockinette, with a couple of decreases thrown in to make it a usable FO, but the second project has to be a "thinking" project - one with cables and intricacies that stretch the brain. I stole this philosophy from my sister - but it works. It also may lead to an overabundance of projects on the needles...but really, is there such a thing??
This makes sense! I've just started Clessidra, and I definitely plan to start a second project soon - a simple hat commissioned by a friend. This will be good. I just really was determined to get the sweater done (and I did! yay!).
Hehe, no, there's definitely no such thing as too many projects on the needles. Heh, or off - I have a pair of gloves completely finished except for weaving the ends in! I was going to give up because winter's over... but, oh, there's snow on the ground again (yeah, seriously!). *blink*
